Sizes are a decision, not a default

A size label means different measurements in different markets, and even within one market it differs between brands. That is why we confirm the size run for every style instead of assuming a fixed run: on our listings you will see S M L XL as the published range, and that range is confirmed against your own chart before anything is cut.

If you sell in more than one market, decide whether you are grading one base chart or shipping separate charts. Doing it deliberately at the start is far cheaper than correcting it after the first production run.

What grading actually is

Grading is how a pattern grows from one base size to the others. The increments between sizes are set per measurement — waist, hip, inseam, bust — and a small difference in those increments is what produces the familiar complaint that the medium fits like a small.

Consistency across sizes is also a quality-control issue, not just a fit issue. If the waistband height drifts between sizes, retailers see it on the shelf and online customers see it in returns.

What to send with your order

  • Your size chart in centimetres or inches, and the size labels you print on the garment
  • Which size is your fit model or best seller — the base size matters most
  • Any measurements that must not move: rise, inseam, bust, band
  • Whether you sell tall, petite, plus or extended ranges

How we confirm it

The measurements are captured on the development piece, checked against your chart, and recorded as the approved specification for that style. Repeat orders are produced against that record, which is how a brand keeps a size consistent season after season.

Buyer questions

Can you make my own size chart instead of a standard run?

Yes. We produce against your chart rather than a generic run. Send it with your order and confirm which size is the base size.

Do you support plus sizes or extended ranges?

Extended and plus ranges can be developed; they require their own grading work and are quoted with the style. Tell us the range you need at the quotation stage.

How do I stop returns caused by sizing?

Fix your size chart, approve the base size on a physical development piece, and keep the approved specification on file for repeat orders. Most sizing complaints come from a chart that changed silently between orders.

Can I use my own size labels?

Yes. Labels, care labels and hang tags are part of the private label brief; send the artwork and we confirm placement and wording with the quotation.

Ready to price your own order?

Send your styles, quantities and target market — we will confirm availability, MOQ and shipping before you commit.
